Our aim isn’t just about improving buildings; it’s about creating perfect places that improve people’s lives.Building Automation Design Engineers create unique design solutions to meet specific customer requirements for commercial building automation systems in new and existing facilities. Building Automation Design Engineers also make recommendations for productivity improvements and cost reductions to increase customer satisfaction and job profitability.As a Building Automation Design Engineer, you will:Understand project requirements and design building automation solutions for higher education and K–12 education facilities, data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, high-rise buildings, and lab facilities.Prepare design documents, including mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts.Design building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through Modbus, Siemens APOGEE, or BACnet.Analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.Design building and space pressurization solutions, chiller and boiler plant sequencing control, etc.Prepare engineering re-estimates and follow up with appropriate sales and management to ensure understanding of and satisfaction with job scope.You will make an impact with these qualifications:Basic Qualifications:High school diploma/GED (state-recognized)Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals of building automation and HVAC system controls based on applicable work experienceLegally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorshipPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study1+ years of experience designing building automation (HVAC controls) projects with standard tools, products, and practices1+ years of experience utilizing AutoCADYou’ll benefit from:Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees.
