OverviewNational Sales & Marketing Manager at Morgan Services. The Chicago Production Manager will be a participatory, hands-on leader exhibiting a strong work ethic, intelligence and a positive, motivating presence. This position will require an ability to build a cohesive team and have a successful track record of coaching. Supported by a fully trained staff of supervisors and front-line members, your leadership and management skills will serve you in all aspects of operations within the facility. Duties include maintaining a safe work environment with a focus on high quality standards, trusting and meaningful relationships and outstanding internal customer service.Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr. Responsibilities Direct assigned plant production activities and personnel. Use the company’s system to manage production (efficiency). Prioritize and manage plant related projects. Develop an annual budget for production. Establish a production safety structure. Member recruitment, development and retention. Develop systems and procedures to ensure outstanding finished product quality. Visit customers periodically to address concerns or stay aware of market conditions. Manage a production compensation system based on performance proficiency. Cross training of members. Assist with plant related annual capital budget. Optimize production scheduling and building the loads off the shelves. Fill route service requirements. Vary production staffing and hours in line with seasonal and other changes in the load on the plant. Work with Maintenance in inspection and maintenance of equipment ensuring an effective preventative maintenance program is practiced. Responsible for regulatory compliance of the plant operations. Manage material inventory levels. Purchase materials and production related supplies. Provide the Sales Division with costs and specifications on new sku’s. Qualifications Previous Operations Management or Production Management experience in distribution-oriented industries that have operations and production components and that service many different customers. Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred, MBA a plus. Experience in a fast-paced work environment. A demonstrated understanding in scheduling workflow, productive labor standards and work measurements. Considerable communication skills (both written and oral), management skills, delegation skills with a strong capacity for multi-tasking.
