OverviewTrueline’s client, a dynamic mid-sized global litigation and transactional law firm, is seeking an Environmental & Real Estate Associate to join their Boston team. This role offers high exposure to complex environmental permitting, land-use strategy, and real estate deals, while working in a tight-knit practice that delivers boutique-style development within a large-firm platform.ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic counsel on Massachusetts environmental law, including permitting, land use/zoning, environmental risk & liability in real estate and business transactionsAdvise clients (including developers, industrial/manufacturing entities, utilities, and energy providers) through regulatory compliance, agency enforcement, CERCLA, RCRA, and other state/federal environmental mattersSupport or lead real estate transactions—acquisitions, dispositions, leases, development and construction agreements—and collaborate with a small team to deliver high-touch serviceWork directly with clients and a lean group structure (typically partner plus 2–3 associates), gaining early, meaningful responsibility and client-facing experienceQualificationsJuris Doctor and admission to the Massachusetts BarMinimum 5 years of experience in environmental and real estate law, with strong knowledge of MA permitting, land use, regulatory frameworksProven track record handling RCRA, CERCLA, enforcement actions or permitting processesReal estate transactional experience (e.g. development, leasing, acquisitions/dispositions)Preferred qualificationsFamiliarity with construction law or experience in development agreementsExperience representing clients in complex industries (life sciences, tech, infrastructure)Prior work at AMLaw 200 or larger firms, with deal-sheet or writing sample as applicableInterest in long-term growth leading toward partnership (eligibility typically after 7th year; mix of income and equity tracks)What We OfferBoutique-style mentorship and professional development within a respected global litigation/transactional platformSignificant client contact and senior-level responsibility even for mid-level associatesClear, realistic partnership path with supportive leadership and feedbackDeep value on collaboration, inclusive culture aligned with managing complex legal challenges across real estate, environmental, life sciences, technology, and crisis managementTrueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
