OverviewAssistant Professor of Chemistry and Physics. Appointment at the Associate Professor level will be considered for the qualified candidate.ResponsibilitiesTeaching: Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture), required; General Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture); advanced courses within the candidate's area of expertise.Advisement: Undergraduate student academic advisement.Service: As required to further the Mission regarding the Department, University, and Community, including but not limited to textbook selection, course and lab design, committee work.QualificationsEducation/ExperienceDoctor of Philosophy in Chemistry required.Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry required.Proven (peer-reviewed publication, presentations, etc.) track record of research involving undergraduate students is required.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues required.Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, & Adobe Connect required.Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required.Familiarity with chemical laboratory safety issues.Ability to design and implement novel teaching lab modalities.Ability to set up and maintain a research program involving undergraduate students.TravelThe position is located mainly at our Brooklyn campus. Occasional teaching at our other undergraduate campuses in the New York area is expected.SalaryMaximum Salary: USD $78,883.00/Yr.Minimum Salary: USD $63,106.00/Yr. #J-18808-Ljbffr
