Recognizedas a premiere source for research, the Museum’s mission is to promote and preserve all fiberart traditions.Diverse exhibits of both modern and traditional work are presented on a rotating schedule inthe Museum’s home, the historic Gaches Mansion, in the beautiful waterfront town of LaConner located in Washington’s Skagit County.The PNQFAM permanent collection contains over 300 quilts dating from the early 19th centuryto the present day, as well as modern art quilts and weavings, 19th-century North Americancoverlets, and a wide array of embroideries from around the world.Founded in 1997 by local quilter Rita Hupy as the La Conner Quilt Museum, the Museum’sname was changed in 2005 to the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum as its mission expandedto include all textile arts. In 2017, the Museum updated its name to the Pacific Northwest Quilt& Fiber Arts Museum to reflect its growing prominence in the international world of fiber arts.Primary ResponsibilitiesAdministrative• Responsible for strategic oversight of day-to-day operations, including supervision of staff• Develop and oversee museum program development, collaborating with artists and staff, and engaging with community partners to attract diverse audiences and ensure continuous improvement.• Collaborate with the Board of Directors in crafting and implementing policies andprocedures.• Evaluate and implement technology tools and web-based applications to improve digitalDevelopment• Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and execute a comprehensivefundraising strategy, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and special events.• Work with the Board’s Development Committee to identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities.Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.• Actively work to expand sponsorship and membership programs.Finance• Develop and manage an annual budget in collaboration with the Board of Directors.• Ensure financial sustainability through prudent fiscal management and cost-effectiveoperations.• Monitor financial performance and provide monthly reports to the Board.• Ensure required state taxes, including payroll and sales tax, are timely paid.• Ensure all required federal taxes are timely paid.• Ensure annual WA Charitable Solicitation and IRS Form 990 are completed and timelyCommunity Engagement• Build and maintain positive relationships with the local community.• Develop and implement strategies to increase the museum's visibility .• Collaborate with local businesses, educational institutions, community organizations.• Represent the museum at public, professional, and community events.Qualifications• Bachelor's or master’s degree (or commensurate experience) in arts administration or non-profit management• Experience in nonprofit leadership (preferably for a museum or cultural institution)• Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations• Strong organizational and administrative skills• Financial acumen, with the ability to generate and analyze nonprofit financial reports• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Passion for the arts and a commitment to the Museum's mission• Able to comfortably lift up to 25 pounds• Ability to climb stairs (the Museum Director’s office is on the 2nd floor of a historical buildingand there is no elevator)======================================================================HOW TO APPLYSubmit a resume, cover letter, and three professional references to Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum is an equal opportunity employer and encourages individuals from siverse backgrounds to apply.Seniority levelSeniority levelDirectorEmployment typeEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionJob functionDesign, Art/Creative, and Information TechnologyReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum by 2xGet notified about new Museum Director jobs in La Conner, WA.We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
