About GlyphicAt Glyphic Biotechnologies, we plan to create the protein revolution for which scientists and researchers have been waiting. We are developing a massively parallel, single-molecule proteome sequencing platform that will transform life science discovery and usher in a new era of insights into human biology and disease. To date, we have raised >$50M from venture partners and non-dilutive grant funding to achieve our vision of next generation proteome sequencing.What we are looking for in you:Glyphic is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join the Chemistry Department to assist in the advancement of our cutting-edge single molecule proteome sequencing platform.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nucleic acid & protein chemistry, bioconjugation, analytical instrumentation, and be eager to contribute to transformative advances in proteomics. The scientist will work with a cross-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and bio-informaticians to rapidly deliver consistent results and insights that accelerate the development cycle.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and optimize high throughput chemical reagent evaluation for single molecule protein sequencing, ensuring high sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibilitySynthesize assay specific reagents and materials for the proteome sequencing platformDevelop and/or validate peptide sample preparation schemes, such as C-terminal conjugation and amino acid sidechain derivatizationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to problem solve and integrate novel solutions into the assay workflowAnalyze complex experimental data, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to guide further developmentUtilize statistical methods and data visualization tools to interpret assay performance and ensure rigorous quality controlPrepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of experimental protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and resultsDrive innovation in reagent and compound synthesis and design and contribute to intellectual property developmentRequired Competencies:PhD in chemistry, organic chemistry, or related field with 5+ years of relevant post-graduate experience, preferably in an industrial or startup settingComprehensive knowledge in bioconjugation and biorthogonal conjugation methods and techniquesProficiency in site specific amino acid chemistry (C-terminal, amino acid sidechains beyond C & K)Experience with peptide synthesis, characterization, and purificationExperience with nucleic acid synthesis, natural and modified analogsKnowledgeable about protein purification and fractionation from complex sample matricesAnalytical experience with HPLC, LC/MS, NMR, FTIR, UV/VIS, CEProficiency in scalable surface chemistry methods and techniques for flow cells and/or solid supportsExperience in the development of commercial products, a plusExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document experiments clearly and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teamsExperience in data analysis softwareExperience in statistical and DOE softwareAdapts to fast-paced environments with changing priorities and responsibilitiesCompensationEstimated Base Salary $120K – $183K. This is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including, experience, education, skillset, and geographic location.
