Environmental Project Manager – FERC Natural Gas ProjectsJoin to apply for the Environmental Project Manager – FERC Natural Gas Projects role at WSP in the U.S.OverviewWSP in the US is seeking an Environmental Project Manager with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams to obtain Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) authorizations and related permitting for interstate natural gas pipeline system infrastructure projects. The role is based out of the New York City office with consideration for Washington DC, Valhalla, NY, Sheldon CT or Morristown NJ. This is a full-time, salaried position with a benefits package and optional remote work-from-home.Your ImpactThe primary focus for this Project Manager is to provide environmental services and strategies to clients involving routing, permitting, and construction support services for natural gas facilities regulated by the FERC.Manage multiple projects in various phases of development and geographic location from routing/siting to construction complianceManage and direct resource teams on environmental studies and permit applications including FERC Section 7 applications, Blanket Project authorizations, and Third-party EA/EIS documentsCoordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for project permittingDevelop business development leads, write proposals and presentations, and capture project workCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, attorneys, planners, GIS analysts, permitting and environmental resource specialists, land agents, and construction compliance monitorsCommunicate with the public and community stakeholders at hearings and public meetingsCoordinate with clients to prepare and monitor project scope, budget, schedule, and forecastingParticipate in field reviews, project compliance inspections, and site meetingsTravel up to 25% of time for client and internal meetingsResponsibilitiesLead environmental licensing and permitting efforts for pipelines under FERC regulationsOversee routing, siting, and permitting strategies for interstate gas pipeline projectsEnsure compliance with applicable federal environmental regulations and related requirementsQualificationsB.S. or B.A. in Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or related degreeMinimum twelve (12) years of professional experience managing environmental licensing and permitting of pipelinesExpertise in Natural Gas Act regulations administered by FERC; working knowledge of other federal environmental regulationsStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to define and understand client requirements, manage expectations, and communicate with clients and project staffProficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsProfessional certifications relevant to technical expertiseMaster’s Degree in Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or related fieldWSP BenefitsWSP provides a comprehensive benefits package focused on health and financial stability, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, retirement savings, paid time off, and parental pensationExpected Salary (all locations): $139,800-$220,150WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range and to offer additional benefits depending on circumstances not related to protected status.About WSPWSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, a global engineering and professional services firm.
