The successful incumbent will immediately contribute to our research in human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models and will be responsible for conducting hypothesis-driven research projects using new CRISPR approaches to study cell fate decisions in multicellular human iPSC models and multiomics across space and time. Under supervision, the researcher will be responsible for contributing to NIH-funded projects using iPSC cells, iPSC directed differentiation, primary cells, and organoid culture as well as single cell multiomics approaches. The researcher will participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary efforts to build human iPSC-based models to uncover the molecular basis of developmental processes and disease states. Additionally, the researcher will be part of a team that performs complex experiments including using genome scale screens, genetic interaction mapping and genome engineering to better understand the genetic and epigenetic causes underlying cancer initiation and progression. The researcher will be supervised by senior scientists and will work with other research associates as part of a collaborative team. The researcher will conduct experiments, analyze experimental results, and contribute to manuscripts and progress reports. The Department conducts its teaching, research, and patient care activities at five major sites: the Parnassus campus, Mission Bay, Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG), the San Francisco Veterans Administration Medical Center (SFVAMC), and the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
