The Office of Attending Physician (OAP) is seeking a Safety and Occupational Health Manager to oversee programs in occupational health, environmental health, infectious disease prevention, food service sanitation, pest control, and general administration. The role involves planning, developing, administering, evaluating, and promoting initiatives aimed at eliminating and preventing environmental and occupational health hazards.DutiesRequirementsAppointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.Ability to pass a drug test.Demonstration of job-related KSAs through resume and responses.Meeting the definition of specialized experience.QualificationsYou must meet the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification standards, including educational and specialized experience requirements, by the closing date of the job announcement. Additional details are available in the OPM Qualifications Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions, accessible at experience refers to experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful performance in this role, typically in or related to the work of the position. To be creditable, one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience must demonstrate proficiency in relevant tasks.For GS-13 qualification, your resume must clearly show one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-12 level. Examples include:Managing safety or occupational health program elements;Planning, developing, organizing, administering, evaluating, and coordinating comprehensive environmental and occupational health programs;Performing risk assessments of hazardous processes and recommending risk minimization strategies;Effectively communicating to implement training, conduct inspections and investigations, create reports, and facilitate meetings;Evaluating health and safety trends, issues, protocols, and practices within large to medium-sized institutional environments.Preferred certifications include Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or reputable infection control certifications (CIC, IP, CICP). #J-18808-Ljbffr
