In addition, Middlesex Asphalt in Central Florida is one of the largest and most productive asphalt plants in the United States with Middlesex Paving earning an equally solid regional presence and reputation.Position Summary:The Site Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of safety and accuracy are maintained on all projects. The manager will also maintain all required safety and quality documentation for the project controls in accordance with the corporate safety standards and project specifications.Responsibilities:Comply with (and actively promote) all safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents, and near-misses to ensure adherence to our number one core value – Safety First in Everything We DoConduct Safety inspections and Audits of projectsReview weekly Safety activity reportsAssist Superintendents with work planning and development of job hazard analysis and safe work proceduresConduct accident/incident investigations including root cause analysisEnsure that all inspection reports are accurate and timelyReview project quality and control (QC) specificationsObserve and document work processesMonitor project for non-compliance issuesRisk assessment and mitigationOversee the quality control functions for all project operationsPrepare nonconformance reports and assist in developing corrective actionsEstablish and monitor compliance with project specifications related to safetyMaintain Hi-Rail Equipment inspection reportsQualifications:Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction, and rail industry regulationsCSP, OHST, or CHST certifications beneficial but not requiredMinimum of 5 years of field safety experience in heavy civil and rail constructionStrong working knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) RequirementsStrong working knowledge of Hi-Rail Equipment function and InspectionMinimum of 5 years of experience implementing and overseeing Safety program on rail projectsNecessary Attributes:Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management stylesTeam player and with strong interpersonal skillsSelf-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skillsReliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalWe offer our full-time and eligible part time team members a comprehensive benefits package that’s among the best in our industry.
