Our mission and work are rooted in Jewish values, and we serve people of all faiths and backgrounds.POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Director of Development and Deputy Director of Development, the Development Manager plays a key role in advancing JFCS’ mission by leading donor-centered events, cultivating meaningful relationships through stewardship initiatives, and ensuring the successful execution of development-related projects. This position is ideal for a highly organized, relationship-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-aligned environment.The Development Manager collaborates with colleagues across development, communications, and program teams to manage event logistics, implement donor engagement strategies, and maintain project timelines and deliverables. This is a visible role that contributes directly to donor retention, campaign momentum, and fundraising PENSATION AND BENEFITS:Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 (depending on experience)Employment Type: full-time, exempt position with benefitsEmployer 403(b) retirement match plus additional employer contribution (subject to eligibility)Cafeteria benefits plan that lets you customize coverage to fit your needs, with options like health insurance, FSAs, retirement plans, and wellness programs16 holidays (10 federal and up to 6 Jewish holidays), annually3 weeks of vacation and 2 weeks of sick leave, annuallyESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, coordinate, and execute a calendar of development events, including donor briefings, campaign milestone gatherings, cultivation events, community gatherings as it relates to the Holocaust Center campaign, and recognition receptionsLead all event logistics including venue coordination, catering, invitations, guest lists, program flow, staffing, and post-event follow-upPartner with the Communications team to develop compelling event collateral, signage, and scriptsDesign and implement stewardship plans for major donors, campaign supporters, and long-term fundersOversee timely and personalized acknowledgments, donor reports, naming opportunity recognition, and milestone outreachManage donor communications and touchpoints in collaboration with senior development staffLead development initiatives and campaigns through effective project planning, cross-team coordination, and deadline tracking specifically for the Holocaust Center capital campaign phase IICreate and manage detailed project timelines, stakeholder assignments, and task lists using project management toolsJOB QUALIFICATIONS:4–6 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising event planning, or donor relations.Bachelor’s degree required; relevant certifications or advanced degrees a plusExperience working on capital campaigns, naming opportunities, or major donor stewardship preferredDemonstrated success in managing complex projects and events with attention to detail and stakeholder alignmentExceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfort preparing briefing documents, scripts, and stewardship materials.Strong interpersonal skills with a donor-first mindset and the ability to build trust and credibilityProficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) and project management software.Ability to travel to various regions JFCS supportsAll qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, including minorities, women, veterans, and disabled individuals.
