OverviewHead and Neck and Thoracic Malignancies Faculty at the University of California, San Francisco.The Department of Radiation Oncology seeks an outstanding physician trained in Radiation Oncology with expertise in head and neck, skin, and thoracic cancers to join its faculty. The ideal candidate will have an interest in developing a robust independent research program focused on translational science, clinical trials, or medical education. The candidate will attend tumor boards at the University, Veterans Administration, and county health system, participate in clinical patient care activities and clinical trials, perform active research, and publish. The candidate will have an established track record in outstanding clinical care and administrative skills.ResponsibilitiesAttend tumor boards at the University, Veterans Administration, and county health system.Participate in clinical patient care activities and clinical trials; perform active research and publish.Teach medical students, residents, and fellows; contribute to continuing medical education efforts including the departmental annual scientific conference.Participate in multidisciplinary oncology programs at UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, and UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay.Collaborate with related departments and participate in co-management of brachytherapy, intraoperative radiation therapy, hyperthermia, and ocular proton therapy treatments where applicable.QualificationsBoard certified in Radiation Oncology with completion of ACGME Residency Training in Radiation Oncology.Significant experience in radiotherapy techniques including superficial radiation, IMRT, IGRT, and SBRT.Four years or more of clinical expertise in the aforementioned areas.Application and RequirementsSalary is open to negotiation. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay by rank and step at appointment (minimum base salary range $154,700 – $405,900).
