Join to apply for the Relief Counselor-San Francisco role at Progress Foundation.ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Assistant Director or Program Director, Relief Counselors replace regular staff who are on vacation, sick, or otherwise absent. They provide support and assistance to clients at one of the Progress Foundation programs, mostly housed in multi-level facilities. The Relief Counselor's primary responsibility is responding to the treatment and rehabilitation needs of the clients. Specific functions include:Orienting new clients to the program and facility, or facilitating peer orientation.Responding to psychiatric and medical emergencies, including crisis intervention.Assisting in evacuations during emergencies like fire or earthquakes.Supporting clients in implementing treatment plans developed by regular municating with referral sources and treatment personnel as needed.Writing progress notes for clients.Leading or co-leading group sessions and activities, adhering to schedules.Sharing clinical and house-status information during shift changes.Monitoring and recording client medications per procedures.Participating in meal planning and preparation, joining clients for meals.Attending supervision and case meetings.Consulting with supervisors on case reviews, medications, group dynamics, etc.Maintaining the physical plant, reporting maintenance plying with laws, regulations, and policies, including the Code of Ethics.Performing other duties as assigned.Reporting personal circumstances affecting job performance.Additional duties for persons with disabilities under the ADA include:Leading or participating in outings and recreational activities.Shopping for groceries and household items with clients.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's preferred.
