Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The company seeks a Corporate Counsel to support its Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) sector. The Corporate Counsel role will include support of existing, major programs within NGAS, and will need to flex to accommodate ongoing changes in the sector, especially as additional program pursuits develop. The major programs that the Corporate Counsel will support are located primarily in Redondo Beach and Palmdale, CA; the Corporate Counsel will need to be flexible as to travel. The position will be located in Redondo Beach.The Corporate Counsel responsibilities will include assisting and counseling on matters associated with the pursuit, capture, and execution of US Government and commercial contracts and associated operations, as well as coordinating with various legal specialists inside the company to support litigation and internal investigations, intellectual property, export, employment and other matters impacting the business. Succeeding in this position requires superb problem-solving skills, sound judgment and discretion, the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, ownership of results, and the highest standards of integrity and ethics.ResponsibilitiesAssist and counsel on matters related to the pursuit, capture, and execution of US Government and commercial contracts and associated operations, and coordinating with internal legal specialists to support litigation and internal investigations, intellectual property, export controls, employment, and other matters affecting the business.Support NGAS programs and related initiatives; coordinate with teams across the legal function to support government and commercial contracting, investigations, and compliance.Travel as required; position based in Redondo Beach, CA with major programs located in Redondo Beach and Palmdale.Demonstrate superb problem-solving, sound judgment and discretion, effective communication and collaboration, commitment to innovation, ownership of results, and the highest standards of integrity and ethics.Basic QualificationsJ.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.Member of the State Bar in the applicable location, capable of licensure through testing or comity, or in lieu of licensure, able to register as an in-house counsel in accordance with the rules of the applicable State Bar.A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience at U.S. government agencies and/or in-house legal departments.U.S. citizenship required. Ability to obtain, and maintain, a DoD Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment.Preferred QualificationsSubstantial experience with contracting and subcontracting in support of U.S. Government programs and/or with complex commercial transactions.Excellence in analyzing legal concepts and the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, including executive leadership, customer representatives, and all levels of Government agency personnel.Ability to provide accurate, timely and pragmatic advice.Ability to promote and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and drives the best solutions to complex problems.Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.Ability to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems using advanced analytical thought and judgment.Proven success leading teams and driving for results in a matrixed organization.Salary and BenefitsPrimary Level Salary Range: $221,600.00 - $318,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
