We are looking for an experienced commercial procurement attorney who has excellent judgment, loves to negotiate deals, analyze complex legal issues, and find creative solutions. We seek candidates who enjoy working independently, are highly resourceful, have exceptional communications skills, and balance competing demands in a positive and client-friendly manner. What you'll doExercise strong judgement to advise The Trade Desk team and contribute to the overall success of the businessStructure, draft and negotiate a wide variety of inbound technology, vendor and purchasing contracts, including professional service agreements, cloud services agreements, SaaS subscriptions, on-prem software licenses, data center agreements, IT and equipment purchasing agreements, data protection addendums, and staffing and recruiting agreementsContinually improve our templates, playbooks, and legal processes to help us scale globally with a consistent but locally relevant approachProvide practical advice on legal issues and risks, complex agreement structures, and company policies in a risk-tolerant, but compliance-oriented environmentIdentify, research, analyze, and work with cross-functional teams to address potential risks related to data privacy, AI/ML, intellectual property, software licensing, information security, and labor and employment lawsWork closely with cross-functional teams to help streamline, automate, and scale The Trade Desk’s global procurement processesDistill and communicate complex legal concepts in layman’s terms Who you are8+ years of experience working in an internationally/nationally recognized law firm or in-house legal departmentAdmitted to practice in the location in which you resideJ.D. from an accredited law schoolSignificant experience in negotiating complex technology procurement contracts and leading legal negotiations with large global companiesBackground or experience with privacy law, intellectual property law, employment law, artificial intelligence, SaaS, and advertising technology is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external constituents at all levelsExceptional critical thinking skills and ability to thrive in fast paced environment, while juggling competing, time-sensitive demandsStrong business sense and ability to exercise good business judgementExcellent interpersonal skills (sense of humor is a big plus) The Trade Desk does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firm recruiters.
