Tax Experienced Manager, Global Tax Outsourcing Base pay range: $94,500.00/yr - $189,000.00/yr Job Summary The Tax Experienced Manager, Global Tax Outsourcing (GTO) delivers exceptional client service to BDO's fast expanding client base. This role works as part of a dedicated team, taking responsibility for controlling a number of clients’ outsourced service lines, interacting directly with clients and the supporting team under Partner/Director or Sr. Manager supervision. The position coordinates and completes projects at the executive level with partnership from multiple teams. The GTO Experienced Manager plans, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors project completion. The ideal candidate is familiar with a variety of concepts, best practices, and procedures in the field and will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This role performs tasks related to project plans and cross-functional support, while leading and directing the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Experience with executive presentations and project management is a must. Job Duties Professionally communicates and partners with cross-functional teams for project timeliness and support. Ensures excellent service is delivered in dealings with clients, employees, and BDO/'s Local Country Providers (LCPs) and that required service levels are achieved. Builds and manages at a global strategic level, strong relationships with clients through regular communication, including client site visits and, as needed, to BDO regional offices. Establishes and maintains client account plans and ensures action steps are implemented to achieve client satisfaction, retention, and expansion of services or countries. Manages projects across all lines of business needs, including financial and inter-country projects. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and discretion. Learns organizational systems and evaluates the need for resources appropriately. Manages time, budget, and resources for all projects, ensuring delivery dates, issue resolution, adherence to scope, and consideration of changes. Develops and nurtures strong, collaborative relationships among project leadership, team members, and key partners. Manages a team of professionals based on client scope of work in the NYC Office and through the BDO Partner Network worldwide. Ensures effective communication of project scope, responsibilities, and changes to all team members. Identifies trends, best practices, and opportunities for payroll consulting, written analysis, and cost-effective client solutions. Acts as a client advocate and strategic resource for issues in billing, policy, country tax issues, payroll management operations, and systems. Works with BDO Partners to prepare year-end client reviews and analyses as well as monthly reports and quarterly reviews as required. Manages risk and compliance in line with BDO policies, ensuring team compliance with standards, client policy, data accuracy, and integrity. Develops Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for account renegotiations, including fee structures and presentations. Develops processes and procedures within the team and region to maximize productivity, ensure clear communication and efficiency, and ensure consistent service delivery. Develops and implements efficiency plans including off-shoring and near-shoring strategies. Collaborates with the Implementation team during execution plans for new accounts to ensure policies, procedures, and processes are in place and followed. Works with Senior Directors and Partners as appropriate and remains open to change and new approaches. Undertakes other tasks and special projects as required. Allocates time to help others solve issues and manages multiple projects under pressure. Leads difficult conversations and provides constructive feedback. Ensures high-quality work from the team for internal and external clients. Education Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting, Economics, or Finance preferred. Experience Five (5) or more years of Global Tax Outsourcing experience required. Experience in a professional services firm required. Negotiation experience preferred. License/Certifications CPA certification, Attorney admitted in a U.S. jurisdiction, or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) or equivalent preferred. Software Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); SharePoint and GFR preferred. Language English; proficiency in more than one other language preferred. Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent organization and computer skills with ability to multi-task. Good judgment and strong reasoning skills; excellent written and verbal communication. Willingness to work off-hours and across global time zones. Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse personalities. Ability to respond tactfully and professionally in high-demand situations.
