Strategic Consultant or Project Leader

OverviewZurich North America is currently looking for a Strategic Consultant or Project Leader for our Strategy team in Chicago/Schaumburg. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving our strategy execution priorities, lead innovation initiatives and shape business development opportunities, collaborating with our Business leaders on a wide variety of projects.The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication and team management/interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated and able to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.The role will be filled at the Strategic Consultant or Project Leader level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based on the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position. Key responsibilitiesSupporting the development of corporate vision, strategies, and innovation for Zurich North America and designated business unit(s)Facilitating and supporting strategic and/or operational projects and solving high-profile, complex problems important to financial, operational, and market successDeveloping market intelligence and conducting competitive landscape analysesEvaluating business opportunities and preparing business cases from strategic, operational, and financial perspectivesUnderstanding key business challenges and developing fact-based analyses, including data models, to support succinct recommendationsWorking with cross-functional teams to synthesize insights and take solutions from idea inception to testing proof of conceptChallenging traditional ways of thinking and developing innovative, forward-thinking solutionsFacilitating the preparation of materials for external presentations and internal business discussionsAssisting in the coordination of overall strategy and innovation priorities across Zurich North AmericaTraining and developing more junior team members QualificationsBasic QualificationsStrategic Consultant: Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of experience in strategic management consultingProject Leader: Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of strategic management consulting Preferred QualificationsExperience in the P&C insurance industry, especially commercial insurance, is strongly preferredExperience developing growth strategies in top-tier consultancy or large internal strategy teamsMBA or Master’s Degree in an analytical fieldExperience working closely with C-suite on strategically relevant topicsAbility to work in an ambiguous, dynamic, fast-paced environmentStrong analytical thinking, problem solving and advanced spreadsheet/database skillsExcellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills with ability to tailor messages to varying audiences Compensation and locationLocation(s): AM - Schaumburg, AM - ChicagoRemote Working: HybridSchedule: Full TimeEmployment Sponsorship Offered: NoSalary ranges and total rewards: The combined salary range for this position is $94,100.00 - $203,700.00. The proposed salary range for the Strategic Consultant is $94,100.00 - $154,000.00 with 15% short-term incentive eligibility. The proposed salary range for the Project Leader is $124,500.00 - $203,700.00 with 20% short-term incentive eligibility.
