Director of Rehabilitation (DOR)ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Develops and maintains systems that build and enhance the facility’s reputation for being the premier provider of rehab services to the elderly and demonstrates the facility’s interdisciplinary care approach.Oversees departmental operations including:Compliance with policies, procedures, standards, and protocols.Adherence to documentation guidelines and regulatory requirements, including monthly audits.Conducting required in-services.Regular communication with the administrator and regional support, scheduling visits and assistance as needed.Timely evaluation and treatment of patients efficiently and effectively.Participation with nursing to meet OBRA requirements.Managing computerized systems for data quality and therapist efficiency.Handling Medicare Medical Review and Denials Management processes.Monitors financial performance of the rehab department and seeks methods to improve it while maintaining standards.Oversees:Effective utilization of staff.Operations and financial levers to meet budget goals, including developing action plans.Timely and accurate billing at mid-month and month-end.Contributes to census development and marketing efforts in coordination with the facility.Oversees efforts to achieve census and payer mix goals by coordinating marketing with the facility and managing relationships with therapists, physicians, hospital staff, managed care providers, and referral sources.Supports professional development of self and rehabilitation staff.Oversees:Maintaining current licensure and professional status.Adherence to professional ethics and standards.Development and implementation of in-service and orientation schedules.Keeping current with clinical knowledge through seminars, journals, and peer interactions.Meeting continuing education requirements.Provides patient care as appropriate, following licensure or certification requirements.QUALIFICATIONS:Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Knowledge of the rehab community.Leadership and management skills.Clinical discipline skills.Effective communication with staff and facility personnel.Education and Experience:Graduation from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology preferred.Current licensure as required by the state.Mandatory 1 Year Experience as DORAn Equal Opportunity Employer #J-18808-Ljbffr
