We seek a practicing attorney to provide legal counsel, contract management, procurement, risk management, and policy advice across various departments, including construction, real estate, procurement, HR, and more. The role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, handling disputes, negotiating contract changes, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.ResponsibilitiesProvide legal counsel and business strategies to protect the agency's interests and minimize risks.Draft and review construction and professional services contracts, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.Analyze design plans and contractor claims, and develop legal strategies.Represent MTA C&D in dispute resolution and negotiate contract changes.Develop compliance training for staff and consultants.Coordinate with outside counsel and handle special assignments.QualificationsJD from an accredited law school and NY Bar admission.At least 1 year of legal experience in a law firm, government, or in-house legal department.Background in engineering, construction, or architecture is preferred.Experience with construction projects or real estate law is a plus.Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.Additional InformationMust file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure as required by law.
