Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOaks Jewelers is a well-established, third-, family-owned jewelry store that has proudly served the vibrant Berkeley community on Solano Avenue since 1948. We’re known for our quality craftsmanship, exceptional service, and welcoming atmosphere.We are seeking a dynamic, industry-experienced professional who thrives in both the technical and customer-facing sides of the jewelry business. This unique “hybrid” role combines project management for jewelry repairs with high-level sales and client service. The ideal candidate will have a strong jewelry sales background, hands-on repair knowledge, and the ability to seamlessly transition between our manufacturing and sales floors.Key ResponsibilitiesRepair Project Management – Oversee and coordinate the jewelry repair process from intake to delivery.Client Consultations – Meet with customers to evaluate repair needs, provide estimates, and ensure exceptional service throughout the process.Team Collaboration – Work directly with our lead goldsmith and sales team to ensure accurate execution of repairs and clear communication between ventory & Materials Management – Order and track materials, and manage outsourced projects via online platforms.Sales & Customer Service – Assist customers with purchases, qualify clients for orders, and facilitate custom design projects.Merchandising – Support store setup, display, and visual merchandising to maintain an inviting showroom.Custom Jewelry Coordination – Collaborate with clients to design, source, and produce unique pieces.Required Skills & QualificationsProven jewelry sales / repair experience (3 years minimum)Basic to intermediate jewelry repair knowledge and hands-on skillsStrong customer service skills with a professional, friendly demeanorExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailProficiency in computer systems and online platformsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentClear and effective communication skillsGIA Certification or other jewelry industry credentialsReliable attendance and strong work ethicTrustworthy with excellent professional referencesBenefitsFlexible hourly work schedule (closed Sundays & Mondays)Paid vacation, holidays, and lunch breaksCalSavers Retirement PlanSupportive, family-like work environment with growth opportunitiesCompensation$30 – $40 per hour, based on experienceIf this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
