What You Will Contribute To Altos An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Chief of Staff/Program Manager to join Altos Labs. You will work closely with the Institute of Technology (IoT) and Portfolio Operations and Projects (PoP) leadership teams to support the overall efficiency, productivity of Programs, and strategic initiatives. This role requires advanced program management, organizational, operational, and leadership skills. You will assist senior leaders with decision making, process improvement, and organizational procedures. The duties are complex and require judgment, independence, influence, and initiative. Responsibilities Provide program management on key operational initiatives for the Altos Institute of Technology and other areas as needed. Assist with business operations of the IoT and PoP group, including communication, budget, and workforce plans. Offer senior-level advising, lead projects, facilitate execution, and collaborate cross-functionally. Influence others at all levels, adapt quickly, think creatively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Communicate effectively with senior leaders in a professional manner. Manage critical projects and communicate status to stakeholders. Help establish and promote our culture and values across all sites. Ensure on-time delivery of commitments with accountability. Identify and recommend resources needed for project completion within budget. Who You Are The successful candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment emphasizing teamwork, transparency, scientific excellence, and integrity. You will serve as a strategic partner to the IoT Institute Director and other leaders, leading, motivating, and influencing teams. You will be involved in strategic and operational planning to optimize performance and help shape the culture of both teams. Minimum Qualifications 8+ years of relevant experience in project management within the biotech/life sciences sector. Strong judgment to enable autonomy and escalate critical issues. Excellent time and project management skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Excellent communication skills. Ability to foster collaboration and communication across departments. Willingness to explore new technologies and AI for program management. Quick learner of new processes and technologies. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a sense of urgency. Detail-oriented and results-driven. Discretion in handling sensitive information. Positive attitude and calmness under pressure. Ability to navigate ambiguity effectively. Salary range for Redwood City, CA: Director, Program Management: $268,600 - $363,400. Exact compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location.
