The heart of our business remains our people.Role PurposeReporting to the VP St. Maarten, the job holder is responsible for business interests, financial performance and operations of St. Maarten.Note: This job is at St Maarten Island; all applicants must possess a US Passport or a US Resident Card, Dutch passport or a resident of St. Maarten.ScaleThe customer base includes multiple narrow-body and wide-body airlines with a wide variety and complexity of operations and product offerings. The principal service provided will be ground handling. The role requires a proven leader with strong operational, financial and business understanding.Main AccountabilitiesImplement Menzies Aviation Policies and Procedures as laid down in the Five Star Audit of ManagementFormulate Local Operating Procedures in areas the Menzies Manuals do not applyEnsure that Local Operating Procedures are carried out as defined in the LOPM and the SQMEnsure service delivery to customer airlines in accordance with airline contracts and within the agreed budgetEnsure safety and security procedures align with the Menzies Health & Safety Policy Manual and international aviation standardsMonitor performance and take action to correct any shortfallsLiaise with airline station managers, airport operations management, handling agents, customs, immigration, security officials, union officials, and other airport stakeholdersProvide reports as required and service delivery measurementsProvide leadership to the management team and develop their skillsNegotiate contracts with airlines and staff agreements with union officialsWork shifts as required by the businessDevelop, implement and maintain the station quality control systemWith the VP, Safety, Security and Training – develop and implement the station Emergency Response PlanReport any significant deficiency in products, materials and documentsSuggest improvements to working practices, especially those relating to safety and securityKey Skills, Qualifications And ExperienceSubstantial general management experienceExtensive experience and knowledge of aviation services, ideally including ramp, freight, and passenger handlingFinancially and commercially astute with P&L responsibilityExcellent leadership and people management skillsStrong communication skills and experience liaising with senior airline, airport, and other stakeholder personnelFully conversant with international airline ramp handling procedures, and international aviation safety and security proceduresAbility to work with a multi-national workforce and adapt to local station conditionsGood knowledge of ramp GSEGood working knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling AgreementAptitude to develop the management team, provide succession planning, and re-engineer business processes as demanded by changes in the businessUS Passport or US Resident Card holder requirement (as noted)Functional KnowledgeIn-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own subject area and basic knowledge of related elements.Business ExpertiseIn-depth understanding of how the station integrates within the business and basic commercial awareness.LeadershipManagement responsibility for multiple teams.Problem SolvingUses judgement based on analysis of information.Nature Of ImpactFull responsibility for delivery of end results and contribution to planning, finances/budgets and policy formulation.Area Of ImpactPrimarily at station terpersonal SkillsDeveloped communication and diplomacy skills and the ability to persuade and influence.Seniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustries: Airlines and Aviation #J-18808-Ljbffr
