The CFO provides leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting teams while overseeing all financial aspects of our development, construction, and design platforms providing critical insights to drive profitability, manage risk, and support the company/'s growth objectives.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Financial LeadershipDevelop and execute the company/'s financial strategy aligned with company core focus and business objectivesPartner with CEO, COO, and executive team to drive strategic decision-makingIdentify opportunities for business growth, acquisitions, and new market entryLead department strategic planning, capital planning, budgeting, and financial forecastingFinancial Planning & AnalysisDirect financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planningEstablish KPIs to measure companywide financial performanceAnalyze and make recommendations on potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and new market opportunitiesLead annual budgeting process for all company platforms and departmentsMonitor budget performance, analyze variances, and make recommendations to executive teamPrepare documentation for company audits and tax filings and facilitate annual audit processCapital ManagementManage relationships with financial institutions and suretiesNegotiate and secure favorable credit facilities and financing terms for operating company credit lines and business loansTrack operating company and development project loan balances, interest accruals, and repayment schedulesStructure and secure debt financing for land acquisition and development projectsForecast capital requirements for pipeline developmentManage bonding capacity to support construction project bidding requirementsFinancial Operations & ReportingEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysisDirect company-wide cash flow management, forecasting, & treasury operationsManage operating cash reserves and forecast cash requirements for project and corporate operationsOversee accounting operations, including AP/AR, draw processing, payroll, and general ledgerImplement efficient internal controls and financial systems with effective oversight of billing systems and payment collection proceduresMonitor compliance with payment terms and contractual agreementsPrepare financial statements and management reports and present to the executive teamEnsure compliance with GAAP and industry accounting standardsProject Cost ManagementDesign financial systems for construction projects to assess profitability, support cost control systems, and inform company strategyEstablish project financial expectations and goals in collaboration with estimating and operations teamsMonitor real-time project profitability metrics, analyze project cost variance, and provide actionable feedback to project teamsAudit contractual financial terms and conditions to ensure compliance with contract requirementsRisk ManagementDevelop and implement financial risk management strategies for development projects and construction operationsOversee insurance coverage for corporate operations and development propertiesLead insurance program management and claims oversightMonitor market conditions and external partner financial stability and adjust financial strategies accordinglyEnsure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirementsTax Strategy & ComplianceDirect tax planning and compliance and tax return preparation and filingOversee property tax assessments and appealsMonitor tax implications for land development and property salesManage relationships with tax authorities and external tax advisorsStay current on tax legislation affecting real estate and construction industry
