The Insurance Underwriting Department offers a culture of empowerment to produce results and resolve clients/' issues. Our team has an excellent track record of success with an experienced and creative group of people that work well together while underwriting various lines of coverage for large accounts representing numerous industries. This role sits in the Public Entity Underwriting area, where you/'ll be a strategic leader and expert in multi-line underwriting within the Public Entity vertical. In this high-impact role, you/'ll assess both new business and renewal accounts—ranging from individual public entities to self-insured groups—while applying consistent underwriting strategies related to retention levels, pricing, and coverage forms. You/'ll collaborate directly with brokers, risk managers, and Safety National/'s Business Development team to enhance broker understanding and expand our footprint in the public entity market space. You/'ll drive the development and refinement of Safety National/'s public entity offerings in partnership with leadership, contribute to manuscript endorsements and policy wording, and evaluate accounts based on complex data including financials, loss trends, and exposure assessments. Your expertise will guide the selection of accounts, pricing strategies, and product innovations, while also helping shape the future of our public entity portfolio. This is a dynamic role ideal for a forward-thinking underwriter with proven production success and leadership capabilities. Qualifications Education: Bachelor/'s degree is preferred, particularly in a related field such as risk management, finance, or business administration. Required Qualifications: Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future. 10 or more years of experience in multi-line underwriting, ideally within the public entity or large retention space. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated success in a production underwriting environment with consistent achievement of business goals. Experience in product development, particularly for public entity insurance programs. Proven leadership qualities with the ability to coach, influence, and collaborate cross-functionally. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate effectively and build strong broker/client relationships. Strategic and analytical mindset with a keen understanding of state immunities, tort caps, and public sector exposures. Protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and technology assets against unauthorized disclosure, destruction and/or alteration, in accordance with Safety National policies, standards, and procedures. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate/'s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
