Director of Operational Risk Management & SafetyRole overview: The Director of Operational Risk Management & Safety acts as a strategic advisor and hands-on implementer contributing to the overall success of the business by helping the organization navigate uncertainty and achieve its objectives. This newly created key role proactively manages risks internally and externally to include public facing events and is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across our operations as well as ensuring the organization is prepared for potential threats and opportunities. Initial focus areas include creating emergency management, business continuity, and training programs and processes.Location: Hybrid based in Woburn, MA. ONLY LOCAL CANDIDATES will be considered.Travel: This position will require occasional travel to our sites.Key ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and implementing a Risk Management Framework: create and maintain a framework that outlines how the organization identifies, assesses, and responds to risks.Risk Mitigation Strategies: develop and implement plans to reduce the likelihood or impact of identified risks, including policies, procedures, hazard and emergency contingency plans.Emergency Management: develop and implement emergency response plans to protect employees and assets and ensure preparedness for various emergencies.Business Continuity: design and implement strategies for continuing operations during a crisis.Developing and implementing Safety Programs: create and update safety policies, procedures, and training programs to address potential hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.Monitoring and Reporting: track and report on key risk indicators (KRIs), monitor effectiveness of mitigation strategies, and escalate significant risks to senior management.Claims Management: manage the entire claims process from intake to resolution, coordinating with legal teams to minimize legal risks and protect the company.Stakeholder Engagement: collaborate with departments and senior leadership to embed risk management into decision-making processes.Staying Current: stay informed of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to keep safety frameworks up to date.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in business.
