OverviewThe Pavilion Rehab & Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Activity Director to join our team. The ideal candidates must be devoted and compassionate about their chosen careers. The Activity Director will have experience working with individuals with dementia, have a highly enthusiastic personality, and be able to develop creative activities for our residents.ResponsibilitiesDevelops, maintains, and coordinates a monthly program of events and programsEstablishes and maintains ongoing contacts with community organizations, churches, colleges, universities, cultural organizations, and other useful resources for program development.Recruits plan and manage volunteer opportunities for the communityManages, trains, and develops staff and volunteersMakes marketing presentations for community outreach effortsWorks with marketing to assist in the planning of community/resident eventsCoordinates community outings to special events, lectures, for an active resident lifestyleOne-to-one activities utilizing interpersonal needs to meet resident/client needsProjects a positive image of the organization in dealing with residents/clients, co-workers, and the publicQualificationsThe Activity Director must be an occupational therapist or therapy assistant, or therapeutic recreation specialist; or a certified activity director.At least two years of related experienceA college degree strongly preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
