We hope you consider joining us.Hotel Teatro is hiring a Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing.Join a team where historical elegance and modern hospitality blend to create unforgettable moments in Denver.Job OverviewThe Assistant Director of Sales is a senior-level sales manager with hotel experience and is the leader of associates. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role may directly or indirectly lead sales staff and manage select accounts. The position achieves revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts in a profitable, win-win selling approach.ResponsibilitiesAchieves a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals, as established by management.Targets appointment-oriented sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with department budget and marketing plan. Must have own reliable transportation and a valid state driver’s license to make sales calls.Maximizes current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth.Captures competitor's accounts through networking, research and reader board surveys to target and solicit those most probable to generate new business.Plans and implements an ongoing Targeted Account Development "hit list" to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts and contracts.Continually targets and prospects for new business through telemarketing, individual creativity and innovation.Utilizes yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitments to enhance the hotel's financial performance.Maintains well-documented, accurate, organized, and up-to-date file management to service clients and employer efficiently.Develops strong customer relations through frequent communication and professional, courteous, and ethical interpersonal interaction.Develops customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system to meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues.Promptly follows up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.Conducts research and surveys to study the marketplace and territory to capitalize on the hotel's strengths and competitors' weaknesses.Focuses on revenue-producing activity and maximizes selling time by dedicating a minimum 90% of work time to direct sales efforts.Professionalism: Controls expenses including travel on behalf of the property to minimize hotel costs. Represents themselves, the hotel, and Sage Hospitality Resources with the highest level of integrity.A service-focused approach and a caring, sincere attitude at all times. Exhibits a positive team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communications with all coworkers for the hotel's best overall performance. Maintains a neat, clean, and business-like appearance.QualificationsEducation/Formal TrainingMinimum of high school diploma or equivalent.Experience4+ years of hotel sales experienceKnowledge/SkillsKnowledge of general sales techniques, yield management, and customer service skills.Ability to hear, speak, read, and write English fluently.12th-grade level mathematics, spelling and reading skills; effective business writing skills.Dexterity/mobility to meet clients on and off premises, tour property, attend functions, climb stairs, and operate basic office equipment.Vision to read fine print and computer screens, and to observe rooms in poorly lit conditions.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
