Our services include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology integration, spanning from engineering and commissioning to construction management. Offices: Long Beach, Seattle, Irvine, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Jose.We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to grow their career at our San Diego, CA office. This position offers a full-time, hybrid schedule (3 days in-office / 2 remote) with a salary range of $137,000-$175,000 and a senior level designation.ResponsibilitiesPre-Design Engineering: perform field surveys for electrical system design, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports; prepare electrical schematic designs.Design Engineering: design power single line and riser diagrams; perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM; select lighting fixtures and power equipment; perform lighting and power circuiting; design and coordinate the lighting control system; prepare fire alarm device layouts based on the International Fire Code and NFPA 72; design fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operations; prepare enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details; understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards; have working knowledge of California Electrical Code and Energy Standards for medium and low voltage systems; coordinate among disciplines and work with the design team; edit specifications for projects.Project Management: manage multiple large-size projects with other senior engineers and sub-consultants; provide mentorship to design engineers; prepare proposals independently for clients; develop business with new and existing clients.Construction Administration: review and respond to RFIs; review equipment submittals; perform punch walks and prepare punch list reports.QualificationsDegree: Bachelor or Master in Electrical EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) license requiredMinimum 10 years of experience preferredAbility to manage projects; PM experience preferredAbility to lead electrical design projects and a team of design engineersDemonstrated project management skillsExperience using AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit requiredFamiliar with HCAI requirementsSelf-motivated, inquisitive, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong record-keeping and organizational skillsAbout LegenceLegence is North America’s leading, integrated provider of energy efficiency and sustainability solutions for the built environment.
