OverviewThe Department of Pediatric Medicine at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital (JHACH) in St. Petersburg, Florida is seeking a candidate to serve as the Chair, Department of Pediatric Medicine. JHACH is a 259-bed teaching hospital and is recognized for its pediatric specialties. The Chair will provide vision, leadership and accountability in fulfilling the research, clinical and educational missions of Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. JHACH seeks an established academic leader with experience in research and education who can lead the department through academic transformation, mentor faculty, and recruit high-caliber academic and clinical staff to foster collaborative research, extramural funding, expanded education, and scholarly activity. The Chair will collaborate across disciplines and organizational units to create a nationally regarded academic and clinical presence and will oversee clinical services, programmatic and academic development, as well as financial management. The Chair will work with the Chief Nursing Officer to develop a joint clinical care model in the Department of Medicine. ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership, management and development of the Department of Pediatric Medicine.Set the vision and communicate how the academic mission contributes to the success of physicians, faculty, the department, JHACH, and the community.Mentor existing faculty and recruit new academic and clinical faculty to increase focus on collaborative research, extramural funding, expanded education and scholarly activity.Collaborate across departments and Institutes within JHACH to create a nationally regarded academic and clinical presence with the Department of Pediatric Medicine.Drive the operational direction of clinical functions; oversee clinical services; lead organizational, programmatic and academic development.Manage clinical staffing and oversight of clinical service models; oversee financial management of the department.Work with the Chief Nursing Officer to develop a joint clinical care model in the Department of Medicine.QualificationsCurrent unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida.Board certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties in the relevant specialty.Minimum of 10 years of professional management experience.Application InstructionsPlease include CV and letter of interest in the application.
