Our goal is to empower one engineer to work at the speed of a hundred.The RoleWe are looking for a Lead Technical Product Manager to drive the vision, roadmap, and execution for Backflip’s core AI-powered design platform. This role combines deep technical understanding with strong program management, partnering closely with engineering, AI research, and design to deliver features that redefine how users create.You will own the product from 0→1 through scale, balancing strategic roadmap thinking with day-to-day execution. That means everything from defining success metrics and writing crisp specs to unblocking cross-functional teams and ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery. You will be a central node in the organization, translating between technical and business priorities to ship high-impact work.We Expect You To5+ years of combined experience in product management and technical program management, ideally in AI, 3D, or complex technical productsBring a background as a technical contributor (e.g., software engineer, ML engineer, data scientist) with the ability to dive deep into engineering discussionsLead cross-functional planning and execution from defining the roadmap to delivering production-ready featuresDrive decision-making through data and user insights with a track record of running experiments and iterating quicklyExcel in startup environments, comfortable with ambiguity, fast pivots, and wearing multiple hats to get the job doneNice to HaveExperience in generative AI, 3D graphics/CAD, or creative toolingStrong grasp of ML workflows from research through deploymentFamiliarity with experimentation frameworks, product-led growth, or developer toolsExperience managing integrations, APIs, or multi-modal interfacesA knack for turning abstract concepts into clear, actionable product plansRepresentative ProjectsLeading the launch of a new AI-assisted design workflow from concept to production releaseDefining data and evaluation pipelines to measure the impact of new generative AI featuresCoordinating cross-functional sprints to integrate a major ML model upgrade into the productDesigning and running user experiments to validate usability improvements before scaling to all customersBuilding the technical roadmap for a platform capability that unlocks multiple future product featuresWhy BackflipRepeat founders in 3D printing/CAD with a prior $2.1B exitBacked by a16z and NEA; small, senior team with outsized impactFlexible PTO and competitive compensation3 days a week in our San Francisco office, 2 days remote with the option to come in more often #J-18808-Ljbffr
