They develop detailed, quality drawings, meet with clients to establish project scope, and spend time in the field to take measurements and ask questions that reduce change orders and simplify the bid and construction process.Join our multi-disciplined team of architects, engineers and environmental scientists in our Melville office. We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with 6+ years of experience in a consulting engineering firm designing building power, lighting, communication and security systems. In this role, you will work with other MEP engineers as part of a multi-disciplined design team, and coordinate efforts with in-house and outside teams handling power generation, distribution, low voltage, lighting, communication, fire alarm and security system design.We are seeking an enthusiastic professional who can manage work and interface with clients to help grow the business. As part of the H2M team, you will have the support of our 450+ staff to succeed in all aspects of your work.We emphasize collaboration and sustainability, and strive to build projects with minimal environmental impact.ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical systems including power distribution, stand-by power generation, lighting, communication, fire alarm and security systems.Supervise a group of Electrical Engineers in project design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications; respond to client questions, review contractor submittals, and provide clarifications during construction.Review electrical department design documents for completeness and ensure adherence to industry and company standards.Assist in development of company quality standards and procedures.Work with management to develop electrical manpower and production plans to meet project objectives.Assist in business development initiatives and client presentations.Perform other duties as assigned.Education and QualificationsEducation (Minimum required): BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.Experience (Minimum required): 7 years of experience with a consulting engineering firm designing building power, lighting, communication and security systems.Understanding of architectural and engineering industry laws and regulations at Federal, State and local levels.Licensed Professional Engineer.Strong oral and written communication skills.Experience with Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software).LEED Accreditation and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Easy Power desired.Ability to mentor junior staff.Experience with HVAC and plumbing systems a plus.The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 annually. The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on factors including experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications.
