Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.We are seeking a highly motivated and capable bioinformatics scientist with experience and interest in translational cancer research and clinical genomics. This position requires experience with scientific programming, relational data systems, algorithms development, and statistical modeling. Top candidates will also have experience deploying bioinformatics code within a clinical setting.Duties and Responsibilities:Contribute to designing diagnostic software systems for Tempus medical devicesInterface with biopharma partners and develop plans for investigational diagnostic testingManage companion diagnostic test design and development in concert with sponsorsPrepare and coordinate software system technical design and requirements analysisCollaborate with scientists and clinicians to design diagnostic tests in a regulated environmentCommunicate with outside scientific teams as well as product and bioinformatics leadershipProduce high quality and detailed documentation for all projects.Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D./M.S. in quantitative scientific discipline.Minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceComputational skills using Python, R, and/or Bioconductor.Ideal candidates will possess:Experience in cancer geneticsExperience working with next-generation sequencing dataExperience with supporting analytical studiesExperience with software development and verification processExperience in regulated medical device developmentExperience using cloud systems such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCPSelf-driven and works well in interdisciplinary teamsExperience with communicating insights and presenting concepts to a diverse audienceCalifornia Pay Range - $100,000-$150,000USDIllinois Pay Range - $90,000-$135,000USDThe expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from California and may vary for other locations (Colorado, Illinois, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
