Candidates must be willing to go onsite to Irvine, CA monthlyCandidates must be located in Southern CaliforniaOverviewSeeking a strategic, results-driven Chief Business Officer (CBO) to lead business development, corporate strategy, and investor relations. The ideal candidate brings deep pharmaceutical expertise—preferably in ophthalmology—a strong investment banking background, and a proven record of closing high-value partnerships and financing deals. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CBO will drive growth through strategic partnerships, M&A opportunities, and capital-raising initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Partnerships – Lead deal sourcing, negotiations, and execution for licensing, collaborations, M&A, and other strategic transactions, with a focus on ophthalmic drug development.Corporate Strategy – Partner with the CEO and executive team to shape long-term strategy, portfolio prioritization, and market positioning, leveraging in-depth competitive and industry analyses.Financing & Investor Relations – Oversee fundraising efforts, investor communications, and relationships with banks, investors, and venture partners to support growth objectives.Alliance & Stakeholder Management – Maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical partners, biotech firms, academic institutions, and CROs while ensuring value creation from existing alliances.Leadership – Build and lead a high-performing business development and strategy team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.Qualifications15+ years in pharma/biotech, including senior leadership in business development and corporate strategy; ophthalmology experience preferred.5+ years in investment banking within life sciences, with expertise in M&A, equity financing, and debt structures.Proven success negotiating and closing strategic transactions and partnerships.Strong financial acumen, including valuation, modeling, and deal structuring.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or finance; MBA strongly preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
