The Principal – Cybersecurity Client Engagement is a member of Northern Trust’s Client Technology Response Program, responsible for interacting with clients to provide insight and comfort around information technology risk, security programs and related technology controls. This team helps establish and maintain client relationships and respond to client inquiries during due diligence engagements and new business opportunities.ResponsibilitiesDeliver a quality product to clients and internal stakeholders, including client due diligence questionnaires, new business proposals, client due diligence visits and client on-site audits, and other inquiries related to information technology risk and information security municate responses in a professional, clear and factual manner suitable for the intended client audience.Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to meet expectations related to time, content and quality.Participate in client on-site audits and due diligence visits.Manage the program knowledgebase to ensure accuracy and timeliness, referencing current policies, standards, procedures, controls, and inputs from subject matter experts.Relay client control concerns to appropriate subject matter experts or control owners; inform experts of emerging trends in client control expectations.Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and the knowledgebase.Mentor other Client Technology Response Program team members as appropriate.Knowledge/SkillsTechnical expert with in-depth knowledge in the area of expertise and strong knowledge of related areas.Excellent analytical, consultative, and communication skills; strong judgment; ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and staff.Highly organized with solid planning and time management skills.Strong verbal and written communication; ability to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.Proactive self-starter with minimal oversight; strong project management skills.Ability to interact with technology subject matter experts and understand technology topics.Ability to meet client deadlines with a sense of urgency; deliver high‑quality outputs on time.Understanding of technology risks, systems and related topics; proactive issue assessment and problem solving.Adaptability to changing work environments; flexible approach to deadlines and workloads; ability to work under pressure.Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of personnel.Experience and QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline; typically four to six or more years of technical security experience across multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications and network protocols, or an equivalent combination of education and pensationSalary Range: $114,700 - $194,900 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
