OverviewDirector, Software Engineering - Payment Services. This role serves as the Payments Technology point of contact and partners with technology and business leaders to provide multi-year technical vision and strategy aligned with business goals. The Director is the key technical domain leader within the PULSE Payments Technology organization and across the Global Payment Network (PULSE).ResponsibilitiesLead, manage and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineersMentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your teamWork with product managers to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenariosContinuously improve software engineering practicesWork within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across full-stack development tools and technologiesLead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutionsStay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering communityEncourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversityImprove the velocity of your and other teamsLead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environmentsBreak existing monolithic applications into microservice architectures and build new microservicesBasic QualificationsBachelor's DegreeAt least 7 years of experience in software developmentAt least 5 years of experience in people managementPreferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Computer Science or Master's Degree in Software Engineering10+ years of experience in software development5+ years of experience in Agile practicesPayment Services or financial services experienceCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked.Riverwoods, IL: $239,900 - $273,800 for Director, Software EngineeringHouston, TX: $239,900 - $273,800 for Director, Software EngineeringMcLean, VA: $263,900 - $301,200 for Director, Software EngineeringCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary offered will be reflected in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
