OverviewRJR Maintenance is a growing healthcare services company seeking an experienced Payroll & Tax Compliance Manager. This is a high-growth, fast-moving environment requiring a vibrant, highly competent and detail-oriented individual to assist with internal payroll and reporting needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a high volume of interactions and daily tasks.The role offers an opportunity to have a major impact in key growth areas and to tackle mid-size business challenges in a dynamic setting. The candidate should be willing to get hands dirty, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and be a quick learner with strong technical aptitude and trustworthiness.ResponsibilitiesProcess weekly payroll for all RJR affiliated companies.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations for full-time, temporary, and prevailing wage employees.Reconcile Workday and ADP reports for completeness related to new hires, terminations, leave of absence, compensation adjustments, etc.Serve as the primary liaison with ADP to ensure proper payroll tax reporting.Calculate prorated and retroactive payments based on change effective dates and process payroll data batches.Maintain awareness of significant changes to payroll tax reporting and laws through collaboration with the legal department.Ensure appropriate registration for all jurisdictions and communicate SUI/SIT registration numbers to third-party tax processors (ADP).Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to verify reports, review timesheets, and conduct regular inspections.Manage notices from the IRS, states, and localities; research and resolve issues to close cases promptly.Ensure compliance with current ACA regulations.Develop and implement policies to maximize operational efficiency and profitability and ensure accountability.Ensure standard operating procedures are followed in the field.Anticipate and address potential issues to minimize escalations for owners/executives.Resolve employee payroll issues, including overpayments, missing payments, and late deposits.Process garnishments and other related tasks as itiate appropriate recourse if company policies and procedures are not met.QualificationsExperience in processing payroll and related tax compliance for multiple entities.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations for various employee types.Experience reconciling payroll data between systems (e.g., Workday, ADP).Ability to work with a payroll processor (ADP) to ensure accurate tax reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Experience communicating with legal and HR teams to stay updated on regulatory changes.Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality.DetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Human ResourcesIndustries: Construction #J-18808-Ljbffr
