About the RoleThe Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Product Team at Commure + Athelas powers the core operating system for our practices. Our product—Insights—provides practice staff and administrators with everything they need to efficiently manage their practice’s operations. We maintain 150+ customer-facing features, ranging from high-level reports and visualizations to workflow automation tools to help the staff boost their practice’s revenue.As a Staff Fullstack Engineer, you will play a key role in scaling and maintaining our website’s infrastructure, ensuring a seamless user experience as we grow to support thousands of practices nationwide.Beyond development, this role will help define the technical direction of Insights’ architecture, shaping how and where services are built and deployed. You’ll help foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of our web applications while elevating the technical skills of the entire engineering organization.What You’ll DoDrive the technical direction of our practice management platform, Insights, ensuring it scales to support thousands of practices and millions of usersDesign, build, and maintain scalable full-stack solutions using ReactJS, Python, and PostgreSQLImprove system reliability and observability by implementing best practices in monitoring, logging, and alertingOptimize performance and scalability of our web applications, ensuring seamless user experiences as we rapidly expandCollaborate with infrastructure and backend teams to ensure high availability and resilience of core functionsMentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learningLead and deliver high-impact projects, balancing speed and quality in a fast-paced, high-ownership environmentConduct in-depth code reviews, uphold best practices, and drive architectural improvements across the stackWork closely with product and design teams to build intuitive, user-friendly experiences for healthcare providers and staffWhat You HaveRequired8+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on building scalable full-stack applicationsProficiency in full-stack development with expertise in JavaScript (React/Vue), Python, and PostgreSQLStrong architectural skills with experience designing and maintaining highly scalable, reliable, and performant web applicationsExperience leading multi-month, high-impact projects, balancing trade-offs, and delivering results in a fast-paced environmentDeep understanding of modern front-end engineering—React fundamentals, performance optimization, state management, and component-driven designExperience working with complex backend systems, including designing APIs and optimizing database performanceStrong debugging and problem-solving skills, with a focus on observability (monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices)Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical excellence across the organizationExcellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical concepts to leadership and cross-functional teamsPreferredExperience scaling front-end applications in a fast-growing, high-traffic environmentDeep understanding of frontend performance optimizations and ability to diagnose bottlenecks in React applicationsStrong product intuition with a track record of influencing UX/UI decisions to improve usabilityBackground in data visualization and building interactive dashboards for analytics-heavy applicationsExperience with developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines for frontend applicationsFamiliarity with modern API design patterns (GraphQL, REST, gRPC) and best practices in backend-for-frontend (BFF) architecturesContributions to open-source projects or a strong engineering blog presenceExperience working in highly regulated industries (finance, insurance, government) with a focus on security and complianceA passion for improving healthcare and healthcare operations in AmericaIf you/'re excited about shaping the technical foundations of a high-impact healthcare startup, we/'d love to hear from you!Commure + Athelas is committed to creating and fostering a diverse team.
