Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Our Client, a leader in autonomous trucking, works with Fortune 500 clients across the US and Canada.OpportunityOur Client is seeking an entrepreneurial and highly motivated individual to lead their fleet operations team and oversee that all deployments are executed safely, on time, and per customer specification. The Director of Fleet Operations will provide strategic direction, monitor team performance, and identify areas for training and development, while maintaining an incident-free safety culture across all operational sites in the U.S. and Canada. This is a full-time, on-site position.ResponsibilitiesProvide both strategic leadership and tactical management to a growing, cross-functional fleet operations team.Lead the deployment and scaling of Autonomous Vehicle fleets across both new and existing customer sites.Identify inefficiencies, work cross-functionally to establish best practices, and create & implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Build, nurture, and maintain strong customer relationships.Strategically manage team resources, scheduling, and site operations to balance workload, optimize staffing levels, and meet financial and operational targets.Champion a proactive safety culture by identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and ensuring regulatory compliance (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, etc.).Demonstrate agility in responding to real-time operational challenges.Drive results by fostering creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement in a performance-oriented culture.Develop repeatable processes that allow for rapid replication of successful deployments in new markets.Evaluate and adopt new tools, technologies, and processes to improve fleet uptime, driver efficiency, and customer satisfaction.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.10+ years of Fleet Operations Management experience within a growing or scaling company.8+ years of operations experience in transportation or the logistics industry.Experience and success launching new operations and scaling teams across multiple geographic regions.Excellent customer-facing skills with the ability to communicate complex issues to diverse audiences (e.g., operations, engineering, or leadership).Experience in leading geographically dispersed teams, with strong people management, coaching, and team-building skills.Deep understanding of safety and maintenance regulations (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, etc.).Positive attitude in stressful situations; flexibility with last-minute changes and long working hours.Excellent analytical aptitude and experience with Excel and other data analysis tools.Proven ability to seamlessly navigate and shift between strategic thinking and tactical leadership.Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth e-commerce or B2B startup environments.A “get-it-done” attitude—someone who thrives in fast-paced settings and takes pride in operational execution.Proven analytical problem solving and organizational skills.Adaptable and resourceful in dynamic, fast-changing situations.DetailsSeniority level: DirectorEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: OtherIndustries: Truck Transportation and Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain and StorageWe’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
