By focusing R&D efforts on three therapeutic areas and other targeted investments, we push the boundaries of what is possible to bring life-changing therapies to patients worldwide.Objective / PurposeReporting to the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Outsourcing (SPO), the Business Partner role operates as a critical link between the R&D Therapeutic Area Unit (TAU) and the SPO team. This role serves as a liaison for TAU requirements and requests, working through other SPO leads as needed to drive resolution. This role is a first line of defense for all supplier related issues associated with the study portfolio under the TAUs. The role will also drive best practices and process improvements cross-functionally to enhance clinical trial efficiency. Seen as a clinical SME with strong leadership, relationship management, strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure seamless collaboration across teams.AccountabilitiesResponsible for developing, managing and strengthening strategic partnerships with designated TAU(s), acting as a trusted advocate and advisorUnderstand and support the current and future contract and supplier relationship needs of the TAU(s), including priorities and challengesProvide study related workbook information to the broader leaders within SPO to enhance planning, decision-making and resource allocationDrive clear identification of supplier activities required to establish initial contractual coverage, ensuring expedited trial initiationCollaborate with TAU, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), and Clinical Partner Outsourcing (CPO) leads to support future study award decisionsLead prioritization and and implementation of processes and policy improvements across study portfolioActs as a clinical expert providing support to CPOs managing contracts related to the TAUDemonstrate strong financial discipline and accountability working cross-functionally, ensuring high standards of budget predictability, financial hygiene and contract robustness across all studiesResponsible to evaluate commercial and operational issues, determining their priority, and directing them to the right teams for resolutionIdentify and escalate systemic supplier performance issues to the SRM team for resolutionDrive collaboration with other CPO Business Partners to share best practices and identify synergies across TAUsCommunicate improvement needs to the Enablement team and assist in implementing best practices, new processes, and toolsFoster strong industry collaborations to ensure continuous exchange of innovative ideas and best practicesEnsure compliance with all applicable internal policies and procedures, regulations; support inspection readiness of all regulated activitiesEducation & Competencies (Technical And Behavioral)BS/BA required; advanced technical degree preferred10+ Years of Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or clinical research environmentProven experience in strategic supplier management, clinical outsourcing, or procurement in a pharmaceutical or CRO settingStrong understanding of and experience in clinical development operations and regulatory requirementsExperience collaborating on cross-functional teams and leading complex, global projectsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalExperience of budget management, financial discipline, and contract negotiationsAnalytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on long-term goalsBuilding and maintaining strong partnershipsExperience in process improvement and project managementUnderstanding of clinical trials, CRO models, and pharmaceutical regulationsSkilled in engaging with senior leaders and external partnersForward-thinking approach with a focus on continuous improvementStrong understanding of GCP, ICH guidelines, and clinical trial regulationsAdditional InformationThe position will be based in Cambridge, MA. We are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.For Location: Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range $174,500.00 - $274,230.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
