Project Engineer

OverviewWe are hiring for a Project Engineer to join our Bay Area Offices. BKF has an immediate need for a project engineer with strong technical abilities and experience in land development project design. The role involves independently applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using experience and judgment. The engineer will plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of technical work on small to major projects, provide assistance to senior engineers and project managers, and supervise/coordinate the team of engineers, drafters, technicians, and others who assist on assignments.ResponsibilitiesProject Design for Site DevelopmentGrading and Drainage PlansUtility Systems for Water and SewerReport Preparation and Master Planning StudiesPreparation of specifications and cost estimatesRoadway/Street final design package – Plan, Profile, Cross SectionsRoadway Design: Streetscape, Green Streets, Bicycle Path PlansAdherence to Federal, State, City and County StandardsReport Preparation and Conceptual StudiesPreparation of Specifications and Quantity Takeoffs/Cost EstimatesProjects include residential, commercial, mixed-use and public works projectsRequirements3+ years of experience in site development and design of residential and/or commercial subdivisions, utility systems, roadways, and public worksB.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited curriculum or equivalentEIT/ FE certification preferredExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plusStrong communication skillsPhysical DemandsMust be able to regularly talk, hear, and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse; occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.Work ConditionsExposure to office sounds; high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
