OverviewBering Straits Professional Services, accompany within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Data Analyst for the Naval Special Warfare Orientation Training Program in Coronado, CA. This role is responsible for collecting, organizing, and interpreting complex data sets to evaluate program effectiveness, identify trends, and support evidence-based decision-making. Wage/Salary Range: $68,000-$90,000/year.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesExecute responsibilities that require professional knowledge of statistics, including collecting and interpreting data, data analysis, forecasting, identifying trends, and making predictions.Coordinate between data holders across all phases/divisions, Operations, Training, and other departments for the management and use of their data.Meet with personnel across all phases, Operations Department and leadership to synchronize planning regarding future changes and measurement of past changes/events. Translate non-technical requests into specific data questions, coordinate the data pipeline, and build reports to meet needs.Support, through direct coordination with the NSW database team, updating, maintaining, and developing candidate production and attrition databases.Create data pipelines within NSW or other databases to alter and transform data as needed (including complex joins, filtering, mathematical functions, data type manipulation, keyword searching, and creation of new columns/information). Use pipeline transformations to create static or interactive reports, potentially using PowerBI or similar dashboards.Apply statistical theories, techniques, and methods to program results and data.Gather and interpret quantified information from run, swim, academic, physical, and psychological test results.Provide analysis through mathematical municate findings to the COR and the Chain of Command through point papers or PowerPoint presentations, highlighting changes, strengths, or weaknesses. Coordinate guidance, feedback, and program evaluation with the COR prior to implementation.Submit statistical reports to document program effectiveness.Enter course-related information into Naval Special Warfare Center databases.Monitor trends in attrition and performance and communicate these trends to the COR and BTC Leadership via electronic media.Automate data processing at BTC to provide situational awareness and efficiencies for end users.Qualifications - Experience, Education and CertificationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Required (Minimum Necessary) QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Statistics or Computer Science, or related degree.Minimum of three (3) years’ recent experience conducting statistical and data analysis.Ability to pass an extensive background check.SECRET clearance or ability to obtain certification.Current, valid driver’s license and ability to operate government vehicles.U.S. citizen.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other CharacteristicsMust be able to communicate statistical methods, findings, limitations, and suggestions to a non-technical audience.Strong business writing and oral communication skills; fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension).Ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.Advanced abilities in current versions of MS Office (Word, Excel, Adobe and Outlook).PreferredPrevious experience related to the essential duties and responsibilities outlined for this position.Practical experience with programming languages: R, Python, and SQL.Practical experience utilizing PowerBI.Experience with data cleaning and geospatial datasets.Experience with ggplot and R.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
