OverviewOur client, a prestigious climate-focused venture capital firm, is looking for a Controller to join their growing team. The Controller will work directly with the Head of Finance and the investment team on a variety of initiatives. This role covers core accounting and operational functions of the Funds and offers opportunities to grow with the firm and contribute across multiple parts of the organization.ResponsibilitiesFund Finance and Accounting: Prepare annual audited financial statements and tax schedules; assist with the preparation of quarterly investor capital account statements; review underlying investment holdings (cost, valuations, capital calls, distributions, unrealized gains/losses); review fund-level expenses and income; respond to investor inquiries; prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as needed.Legal: Assist in compliance to ensure the finance function complies with SEC and FINRA rules and regulations; maintain legal abstracts and investment closing sets.Operations: Assist in collecting portfolio company financial information and perform analyses.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.5–8 years of relevant experience (venture capital, private equity, or other investment management preferred).
