OverviewOur client is a private industrial services company located on the south side of Houston, seeking a Chief Financial Officer to be a hands-on leader in accounting and reporting, and to guide strategic financial decisions, budgeting and analysis. The role requires a data analysis and systems optimization mindset and collaboration with the executive management team to grow the organization and optimize results.ResponsibilitiesOversee Accounting Functions: Maintain and optimize a financial control system which ensures assets are protected and financial reporting is accurate. Manage and support accounting personnel for all accounting tasks, ensuring control procedures and financial systems are in place and functioning. Provide the organizational structure to perform accounting tasks in alignment with control procedures in a timely and accurate manner. Manage payroll process and related employee compliance, including payroll tax reporting. Ensure all accounting activities are performed in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.Finance Function Leader: Manage debt and financing activities, including debt payment and related accounting and financial reporting required by loan agreements. Manage daily, weekly and monthly cash requirements and develop best uses of cash and other financial resources for recommended actions by management.Management and Management Reporting: Participate with company management as finance representative. Provide financial statements to management and board as required. Provide useful management reporting for monitoring financial and operational performance. Provide specific financial analysis, including special projects and detailed analyses of trends as pliance and Regulatory Obligations: Manage financial and compliance audits or reviews required annually. Manage filings of federal and state tax returns and quarterly tax payments. Ensure compliance reporting for sales tax, property tax, and other tax areas. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local filing obligations involving finance, payroll, or human resources; stay current with new federal and state laws involving tax, payroll or human resources.QualificationsEducation: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent is required. MBA or Master’s degree is preferred.Experience: 15+ years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a company setting or CPA firm. Financial reporting experience is required. Experience managing personnel and in financial control processes, accounting processes, and ERP systems is required. Cash management and forecasting experience is preferred. CPA is a plus. Candidate must be a confident self-starter with initiative and able to solve complex problems. Proficiency with accounting and finance software and computer systems. Ability to develop and improve financial control processes. Effective communication skills. Experience with banking and other financing mechanisms is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
