Product Designer, Merchant Design

OverviewPosition Title: Product Design, MerchantOur client is seeking a contract Product Designer to craft intuitive, high-quality merchant tools that power our monetization ecosystem. You'll collaborate closely with the Merchant team, designing experiences that balance user needs with business impact. With a sharp eye for visual detail and a systems-thinking mindset, you'll execute quickly, iterate within established design systems, and partner with cross-functional teams to raise the quality bar for merchant experiences. We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Product Designer to join the Merchant team. This role supports a fast-moving team focused on international expansion and merchant tooling. You'll be embedded in a pod alongside a dedicated PM and engineer, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners including content designers and user researchers.You'll work on content supply systems beyond the product catalog, supporting initiatives like catalog management, asset libraries, and Ads Manager integrations. Your work will directly impact how merchants upload, manage, and promote their products globally.We are looking for a designer who will craft experiences that deliver measurable business impact by balancing merchant needs with business objectives, while upholding a high level of design execution across the team.What you'll doCraft intuitive, visually refined merchant tools—blending systematic thinking, interactivity, and pixel-level precisionDesign merchant experiences that deliver measurable business impactCollaborate cross-functionally with product, content design, data science, engineering, and research to develop comprehensive, well-articulated solutionsRapidly generate multiple concepts and prototypes, knowing when to focus on pixel-perfect detail or low-fidelity sketchesClearly present design solutions and synthesize stakeholder feedback into a focused point of view that drives final decisionsBalance merchant needs with objectives, designing responsibly to serve both users and the businessUphold and inspire a high level of design execution across the teamContribute to international expansion efforts, designing for both U.S. and global marketsWhat we're looking forMust have experience designing for business products; having content/catalog management or merchant domain knowledge is a plusProven track record envisioning, building, and iterating on digital products in close partnership with product management and engineeringStrong portfolio that demonstrates outstanding design skills (prototyping is a must) and product thinking informed by qualitative and quantitative insightsGreat communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate your design decisions and the problems they're solvingAttention to detail and a sense of pride and ownership over the quality of the productSolid understanding of layout, typography, color, and other graphic design principlesAbility to work within a design system; experience working in design systems and/or product redesigns is a plusTeam player with strong collaboration skills and ability to bring cross-functional partners along in the journeyHigh level of self-awareness with a growth mindsetKey ResponsibilitiesOwn design execution for specific projects, delivering clear, intuitive UI across merchant tools such as catalog, asset library, and Ads ManagerCollaborate with PMs, engineers, and other designers to understand project goals and user needsGenerate multiple design options and articulate trade-offs, incorporating thoughtful feedback from stakeholdersPresent flows and user journeys, not just static screens—showing how users interact with the product across surfacesMaintain high attention to detail in visual craft, spacing, typography, and accessibilityDeliver reliably against timelines and project milestonesDemonstrate ownership at the project level, designing for outcomes rather than just outputsContribute to international expansion efforts, designing for both U.S. and global marketsPay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80.00 - $95.00/hr.
