Overview Sr Engagement Manager, US Federal Government - Workday Join to apply for the Sr Engagement Manager, US Federal Government role at Workday. About The Role As an Engagement Manager in our US Federal practice, you will guide customers through the deployment lifecycle and solution delivery by partnering with Workday Delivery leadership, consultants, resource management, and Workday Deployment Partners. You will oversee the customer experience through deployments and manage a portfolio of project engagements, including external customer-facing engagements and internal Workday engagements. You will drive successful implementation of the Workday product on large projects for our US Federal customer base. You will develop key project deliverables (e.g., charter, project/staffing plan, issue logs) with the Client project manager to resolve issues and deliver project profitability. You will also provide guidance to Workday Deployment Partner Project Directors and Project Managers in Workday deployments. What you’ll be doing Project manage one or more Workday product implementations concurrently, including partner-led deployments Ensure delivery within the budget and time outlined in the SOW Participate in the sales cycle to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach, and develop a proposal/SOW Provide guidance and mentoring to Professional Services resources on your implementations Plan and staff projects appropriately Work with the client project manager to identify and resolve issues impacting scope or timelines Collaborate with Delivery Assurance to meet checkpoints Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings Ensure the client benefits from Workday best practices Serve as a liaison for Professional Services with sales and/or development Identify opportunities to position other service offerings Ensure the client can serve as a reference after implementation Assist in transitioning the customer from Professional Services to Product Support Present change orders when tasks extend beyond the SOW scope Expected results within 12 months Become an expert in Workday's Implementation Methodology and apply it on all engagements Demonstrate competency in the Workday HCM, Financials, and/or Payroll product suite Full project P+L ownership What you’ll bring Basic Qualifications Sr Engagement Manager (P4) Demonstrable experience (6+ years) of project managing medium and/or large Enterprise ERP implementations, preferably within Federal and/or State & Local Government 6+ years experience implementing Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Ultimate, Lawson or similar Demonstrated experience (6+ years) in at least one ERP area: Financials, HCM, Payroll, Services Procurement or similar Principal Engagement Manager (P5) Demonstrable experience (8+ years) of project managing medium and/or large Enterprise ERP implementations, preferably within Federal and/or State & Local Government 8+ years experience implementing Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Ultimate, Lawson or similar Demonstrated experience (8+ years) in at least one ERP area: Financials, HCM, Payroll, Services Procurement or similar Other Qualifications Experience overseeing 3rd parties on a project Experience within the Public Sector Business development experience Previous service sales experience is a plus; balanced functional and technical background Prior consulting experience Experience in financial implementations or knowledge of financial processes and reporting is desirable Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders Travel requirement: 50% or more of the time Posting End Date 9/30/25. This role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan, commission/bonus, and stock grants. Compensation offers are based on geography, experience, skills, duties, and business need.
