OverviewThis is the validation team supporting VR (wearables), validate design, quality, find/prevent bugs.Purpose: EE/power engineer specialized in general power testingDescriptionPurpose: Hardware power validation engineerWork ScopePerform Hardware validation on consumer electronics – VR HeadsetsGenerate power characterization test plans, data reporting and documentation, prototype bring-up and debuggingPerform system level PMIC validations (power ON/OFF sequence, load and line regulations/transients, charge/discharge profiles etc)Engage with CM (Contract Manufacturing) on reviewing validation plans, analyzing test data and solving hardware issuesWrite automation scripts in Python if needed to reduce validation cycle timeRequired QualificationBS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent studies. Masters preferred.4+ years of experience in consumer electronics power validations and hardware debuggingFamiliar with power lab equipment (Oscilloscope, power supply, eload, function generation, thermal chamber and DAQ system)Experience with DC/DC regulators, battery power management, charge/discharge profiles and lithium-ion batteriesUnderstanding of power trees, PDN analysis is needed2+ years of experience in automation using PythonFamiliar with ADB (having Shell script experience is a plus)Self-motivated and detail orientedTop 3 must-have HARD skillsSoftware- writing automation scripts in pythonWorking in power electronicsWorking in a lab (power supplies, function generators, etc)Battery emulatorsGood to have skillsNI DAQ (National Instrument DAQ)Power measurements – power consumption in different use cases, write automation scripts, running the automation scripts using the NI DAQTypical Day in the RoleGenerate power characterization test plans, data reporting and documentation, prototype bring-up and debuggingPerform system level PMIC validations (power ON/OFF sequence, load and line regulations/transients, charge/discharge profiles etc)Engage with CM (Contract Manufacturing) on reviewing validation plans, analyzing test data and solving hardware issuesHow will performance be measuredMeeting deadlines and delivering high quality work.ExperienceMust have 3+ years of experience on following:Software - Writing automation scripts in pythonWorking in power electronicsWorking in a lab (power supplies, function generators, etc)Good to haveNI DAQ (National Instrument DAQ)Power measurements – power consumption in different use cases, write automation scripts, running the automation scripts using the NI terview Process2 rounds of interviews (1st with CWAM, then a coworker)Must be able to display the below for the interviewPython automation scriptingValidation experience on buck, boost, LDO and battery charger ICLocationONSITE in Sunnyvale (working hands-on with products in lab setting)Quick NotesThis is the validation team supporting VR (wearables), validate design, quality, find/prevent bugs.
