The ideal candidate will have strong Python programming skills and experience with automation frameworks.Primary responsibilitiesEngage in cross-functional collaboration with software development teams, manual QA personnel, and key stakeholders to improve the quality of embedded software across SimpliSafe’s hardware security solutions.Design and implement automated test scripts using Python to enhance testing capabilities and coverage, mitigating risk and improving system reliability.Architect, develop, and enhance specialized test frameworks and testing environments for embedded systems.Develop software interfaces that interact with hardware, including system configurations and test harnesses.Review product requirements, behavioral specifications, and design documents early to initiate test development and identify potential issues before implementation.Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in software testing to drive innovation and continuous improvement.What You’ll BringBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development or automated test development.Ability to provide technical guidance, lead a small team, and mentor less experienced team members.Lead cross-functional automation initiatives to support new and existing products/features.Implement process improvements to enhance firmware automation quality.Strong software architecture and design experience.Proficiency in an object-oriented language, with a preference for Python.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Technical SkillsStrong OO design, Python3, PyTest, and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).Ability to troubleshoot and root-cause complex issues with clear, actionable work items.Practical experience with wireless protocols (WiFi, Bluetooth, LTE).Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet).Experience with testing audio/video technologies is a plus.Previous embedded testing experience is a plus.ValuesCustomer ObsessedAim HighNo EgoOne TeamLift As We ClimbLean & NimbleWhat We OfferA mission- and values-driven culture with a safe, inclusive environment to build, grow, and thriveA comprehensive total rewards package to support wellness and security for you and your familyFree SimpliSafe system and professional monitoring for your homeEmployee Resource Groups (ERGs) for networking, mentoring, and advocacyWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our workforce. #J-18808-Ljbffr
