OverviewSenior Chemical Process Engineer position in a specialty chemical manufacturing facility utilizing batch processing systems. This role involves hands-on lab, pilot, and production floor support with cross-functional collaboration across production, R&D, QA, maintenance, and sales. Safety protocols, PPE, and strict quality standards are enforced.Location: New Haven County. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.Job TitleSenior Chemical Process EngineerCompensation and BenefitsSalary: Base pay range $110,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yrBenefits: Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), profit sharing, and tuition reimbursementShift: Monday to Friday, standard daytime hoursResponsibilitiesDirectly support the production, improvement, and growth of existing and new chemical operations by delivering hands-on process engineering and cost-effective project management in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.Develop a general knowledge of all products and processes; become Product Owner for assigned products.Monitor production of assigned products and interact with operations personnel daily during manufacture.Develop new and/or improve existing COPS, keeping binders up to date and in good physical condition.Direct involvement with pilot batches and scale-up of new products.Annually review assigned product costs; recommend and implement changes to BOM and route; identify and implement cost-saving ideas.Generate reports and monitor data for key production variables; engage operations in tracking critical controllable parameters.Lead risk management and process safety issues related to assigned products.Act as Maintenance contact for repairs related to reaction systems for assigned products.Use root cause analysis tools to investigate non-conformances; own related corrective and preventive actions and follow actions to closure.Maintain, generate, and report information requested by customers; interact with Sales & Marketing on new development opportunities and existing customer relationships as required.Support New Product development through Stage Gate; coordinate new product ownership and customer relationships.Develop and create documentation required to support new products through Stage Gate; produce lab-scale batches and run design of experiments as needed.Work on pilot batches and training operations with a goal of commercial scale production.Engage in Values and Code of Behavior; provide expertise in Production Interface issues; facilitate tactical interface with operations via COP generation and review/closure.Support production scheduling including purchasing interface as needed; track critical process parameters.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBS or MS in Chemical Engineering (preferred), or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.10+ years’ hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment as a process or production engineer for senior level roles.Proven track record of successful Project Management from scoping to final implementation; ability to lead meetings and manage multiple projects.Experience with batch processing of chemicals, particularly in Lab and Pilot Scale; experience with glassware and equipment setup in accordance with Lab safety standards.Knowledge of and experience with quality and environmental management systems (OSHA PSM, ISO9001, ISO14001) a plus.Ability to multitask, prioritize complex issues, and independently manage multiple priorities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); working knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes (Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, LEAN, etc.) with a desire to implement these systems.Strong interpersonal skills and cross-departmental collaboration; effective written and verbal communication; mathematical proficiency; and a proven team-player mindset in a high-energy, time-sensitive pany OverviewFounded in 2010, Top Prospect Group focuses on matching high-quality candidates with top clients while fostering a shared-success environment.
