Established in 1991 and operating 20 branches across the United States, CCS Mid-Atlantic is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and professional AV Lead Installation Technician to join our Columbia, MD team.Job SummaryWe are looking for a customer-focused, organized, ethical, and career-minded professional who can lead and work well in a growing team. As a lead AV installation technician, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, warehouse staff, and installation personnel at various project sites. You will need to be proficient with technical drawings, interact with clients, general contractors, and other partners in a professional manner. In this role, you will teach, share your experience and knowledge with junior technicians on the team.ResponsibilitiesLead installations for mid-sized projects and independently manage job progress; report detailed information to the project/installation manager.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, warehouse staff, and installation personnel at project sites.Read and understand wiring diagrams, architectural drawings, and project printouts.Diagnose and troubleshoot problem installations at system and component levels.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior teract with clients, general contractors, and partners in a professional manner.QualificationsInstallation and configuration of high-end audio, video, network, and automation systems (Lutron, AMX, Crestron, Qsys, Extron, Biamp or other common control systems).Strong understanding of AV system integration, complex signal flow, and control systems for distributed audio and video.Ability to assemble racks and perform testing; reading and understanding wiring diagrams and project printouts.Fundamentals of sound mixing; AV system testing, calibration, and optimization for high performance.Termination of various cable types and connectors (coaxial, ethernet, BNC, RJ45, DB9, etc.).Strong problem solving skills; ability to make quick decisions in the field and provide solutions to clients.Familiarity with programming and configuring advanced control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX).Strong networking knowledge, including AV over IP setups and advanced network configurations.Own personal tools; ability to use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors safely.Valid Driver’s License and a DMV record that meets CCS Mid-Atlantic’s driving standards; reliable transportation to and from work; willingness to travel to various job sites.CertificationsCTS CertificationCTS-I is preferredCrestron, SMART, Biamp, Qsys, etc. are desirableBenefitsCompetitive industry compensation and full benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, company life insurance, paid vacation and more.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands of this position include the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
