Duties to include the following:Responsible for sports coverage at FIU in PantherNOW, The Roar, and Ensure sports content is up to date in Manage coverage of sports with live broadcasts over The Roar.Coordinate and assign a minimum of three Biscayne Bay related sports stories a week.Hire two assistant sports directors and all sports writersAssigns and edits sports storiesManages sports department.Minimum QualificationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStory-telling skillsKnowledgeable in InDesignManagement and team leadership skillsAP Style writingHave knowledge of campus sports.Job CategoryStudent AssistantStudent DisclosureApplicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.Work Schedule3 hours weeklyAdvertised Salary$13.00/hourPre-Employment RequirementsCriminal Background CheckThis student appointment may be subjected to a pre-employment background check.Student Background ChecksExtended Background Check is required if the job includes any of the following responsibilities.
